Tauranga City Council operates the Tauranga City Plan; the recent housing intensification work has changed what density is possible on many sites in the urban area. Coastal proximity, regional sand-based soils in some suburbs, and Tauranga's specific wind and sun exposures all shape good design here. We design for those conditions rather than around them.
